Testing Autodesk Sketchboard

I'm negotiating the publication of my "snail tale" but they insist on black and white images. This is the compromise I'd like to reach.

My boyfriend reading a magazine on the beach

It took me almost the same amount of time to portray him as for him to read the last issue of Wired!

Fairy tale

Concepts for a story about a winged elf, her beloved ogre, his nasty mother and their dragon pet. I've already written the first script for an episode of 10 minutes!

My granma

The last of my exercises in my drawing course: a portrait of my granma Armanda taken from an old picture.

Gigia's cartoon alpha version

It took me ages to decide whether to share this version of my first cartoon. But it was simply an exercise without which I couldn't get my Autodesk Certificate from Digital Dreams Barcelona.
I was so proud of myself when I handed it in on the 6th on April, but since then I was told that:

a) the palette is inconsistent
b) changing the light from what I thought could be daybreak to sunset, just to give a sense of time passing more quickly than it appears, is actually quite confusing
c) There is no depth of field, no fog and no blur
d) It takes a couple of views, at least, to guess the snail is hungry and can't move because the shell is too heavy.

In spite of all this, it was still a step in my learning process. I hope by next year I'll look back to this experiment with the same tenderness you look at your primary school drawings. I'm trying to put together a beta version, even though it would require radical changes.

Comic version of Gigia

I started using Comic Life as a substitute for a proper storyboard program.

4 characters looking for a story

Last night I had a dream: I was a warrior and I was in love both with a centaur and with a human boy. An old lady mocked me but gave me a chance of having my way with the 2. I ended up pregnant with twins...
Bottom line: don't indulge in Fantasy.

Mediterranean Light

I swear I didn't put the light bulb there. It just appeared out of nowhere when I was about to leave. Sadly, the beach is already full of garbage even before the high season. Nonetheless, I thought that this depressing scene could have its hidden metaphor.
